Six (6) chairs Model No. 3107, also called the Series 7 (Syveren Chairs). Stacking dining chairs in black stained plywood. Moulded plywood connected to chromed bent tubular steel base with plastic cap feet.

Scratches and wear by use but overall a nice vintage patine, not restored just cleaned. (see pictures). Some lost of chrome and minor rust spots, but they are honestly beautiful chairs that are in good condition after more than 40 years. All the cap feet are new but still original Fritz Hansen. This early series is not fully varnished as with the reissues of this time, but these are still nicely stained so that the wood grain is visible. In my view, the new chairs have something 'lifeless' due to the thick layer of paint and are perhaps actually boring...

This iconic chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1955. Signed underneath as can be seen in the photos with the early production plastic cap which is stamped: By Fritz Hansen, Made in Denmark and the label with the year 1979.

The series 7 is one of the most commercially successful chair lines ever produced. Jacobsen's approach to the complex moulding of the continuous plywood seat and back was influenced by Charles and Ray Eames earlier designs. In addition, the chair is very comfortable, it fits great.
