A pair of nickel plated Kinkeldey sconces with triangular crystals. Dimensions: height 2.8 in. (7 cm), diameter 6.7 inches (17 cm).

Kinkeldey is a German manufacturer of high end lighting fixtures. The company attracted international attention when they won the prestigious IF Design Award in 1969 with a chandelier fitted with prism cut crystals. During the 1970s the company produced a number of variations on this award winning model, like the sconces offered here. Though Kinkeldey lamps show the same quality as fixtures of companies like Bakalowits, Lobmeyer and Palwa, the Kinkeldey models tend to be more modern in their design approach.

Each of these classic, yet modern sconces is equipped with seven triangular prisms, which are set in a radial pattern. The crystals are meticulously cut in such a way that they emit the light of the bulb in different directions.

Each fixture is equipped with a Small Edison Screw (SES) lamp holder (14-17 mm), 40 Watt maximum. The electric parts are in good condition and are approved to European standards and will work in the USA as well. However, inspection and installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.
