German Kinkeldey 2-tier pendant with 18 faceted crystals and two light sources.

Kinkeldey is German manufacturer of high end lighting fixtures. The company attracted international attention when they won the prestigious IF Design Award in 1969 with a chandelier fitted with prism cut crystals. During the 1970s Kinkeldey produced a number of variations on this award winning model, like the one offered here. Though these lamps show the same quality as fixtures of companies like Bakalowits, Lobmeyer and Palwa, the Kinkeldey models tend to be more modern in their design approach.

This Classic, yet modern exquisite Kinkeldey pendant is fitted with 18 rectangular prism cut crystals in two alternating sizes. The fixture has two tiers, of which the lowest is suspended by three small chains. Dimensions: Height of the fixture 12.6 inches (32 cm), diameter 8.7 in. (22 cm). Dimension of a crystal: length 5.9 inches (15 cm), width 2.4 in. (6 cm) and height 0.12 and 0.2 inches (3 and 5 mm). There are 10 thin and 8 thick crystals. Divide the thick and thin crystals when hanging. This is for balance.

The electricity is in good condition with new wire. Two bulbs (E27 26-27 mm (medium) Edison screw (ES). Max. 70 Watt. The electricity is approved to European standards. Works in the USA.

The crystals are meticulously cut in such a way that they radiate the light of the bulbs in different directions. Please note that - like with most of the vintage Kinkeldey fixtures - there are some small chips on the edges of some of the crystals. Though these are hardly visible once the pendant is installed.

As electrical requirements vary from country to country, we recommend that you always have lights checked and installed by a local professional.
