One bulb E27/E26 of max 60 watt, the electricity is used but in a very good condition, approved to European standards. Works in the USA. Inside the shade is a small label with 100 watt but we advice 60 watt. That's more the enough and because the shade is acrylic be careful with heath. Dimensions: height 60.6 in. (154 cm), diameter shade 17.3 inches (44 cm). Diameter base 15.0 inches (38 cm).

Luigi Massoni (1930-2013) was trained as an architect and designer at the Collectivo di Architectura in his native Milan. In 1957 he started his design career by - together with Carlo Mazzeri - creating an ice bucket and a cocktail shaker for Alessi, which are still in production nowadays. In the same year he started his collaboration with Carlo de Carli. Together with De Carli he founded the magazine ‘Il Mobile Italiano’ and initiated the ‘Standard’ furniture biennale in Mariano Comense. Throughout his career Massoni served clients like Boffi, Gabbianelli, Poltrona Frau, Sirrah, Venini and Guzzini. As an art director for Guzzini (1963-1976) he was responsible for the corporate image and design policy of the company. In this capacity he hired designers like Gio Ponti, Gae Aulenti and Fabio Lenci. Besides he designed a number of iconic pieces for Guzzini himself as well.

The Alvise range - consisting of a floor, a table and a pendant light - is without a doubt part of this extraordinary heritage too. Due its large dimensions the floor lamp is certainly the rarest from this series.
