Fixture with three smoked glass spheres. Brass ceiling plate with three cable guides. You can make your own configuration by distributing the three guides across the ceiling. The length of the cable is also adjustable. Beautifully crafted details and construction, well and solidly executed. Including the screws for the ceiling and three bulbs. In a beautiful condition.

Diameter of a sphere: 9.4 inches (24 cm), diameter ceiling plate: 7.1 in. (18 cm).

Bulb (E27 26-27 mm (medium) Edison screw (ES). Max. 70 Watt. The electricity is used but in a good condition, approved to European standards. Works in the USA.


Jonas Hidle (1912-2001) is without a doubt the most important Norwegian lighting designer of the 20th century. He graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (Norges tekniske høgskole) in 1937. After an internship as an architect's assistant, he joined the Christiania Glasmagasin's design studio in 1941. As the artistic director of the company he designed luminaires for homes, offices, hotels, banks, ships, museums, theaters, concert halls, government buildings and a number of churches. His numerous domestic public assignments include work for the City Hall, the Akershus Castle, and the Royal Palace in Oslo; the cathedrals of both Bergen and Trondheim. In North America Hidle’s work can be seen in the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington (the huge chandeliers in the main concert hall) and in the Winnipeg Centennial Concert Hall (three large chandeliers in the lobby). Hidle became particularly known for applying a combination of glass and brass in his fixtures. Some of his designs show similarities with the work of Hans Agne Jakobsson and German manufacturers like Doria, Kinkeldey and Limburg. But as Hidle collaborated with the metal workers at Høvik Verk and the glassblowers at Hadeland Glassverk his products are always finished to a very high standard.
